Different Kinds of Day Care Centres and What They Do

Blog

The thought of being a parent for the first time can be both thrilling and terrifying. First, you are happy that you have a newborn who means the world to you. However, you also feel afraid for your child because you need to find a way to care for them as you get back to work or school. Gladly, daycare centres specialise in helping parents provide quality care to their children with an emphasis on learning and proper development.

Here are the various kinds of daycare centres, and what they can do for you:

Long Day Care Centres

Long day care centres are the best bet for parents whose children have not yet attained the age to attend regular school. The provider offers the services on specially built premises meant to help the child to learn and develop other cognitive abilities. In such facilities, the providers often group the children based on their age so that every child takes part in activities that suit them. The activities here range from arts and crafts, dance, drama, and games.

In-Home Care Services

In-home care services serve the interests of parents who want their child cared for without leaving home. In-home care is a good option for children with special needs, such as disabilities and illnesses. They also suit parents who work non-regular hours or non-standard shifts. Lastly, you can also go for them if you live in a remote area.

Family Day Care Centres

Just like a long day care centre, a family day care centre offers services for children who are yet to join a regular school. However, they differ because a provider offers family day care services from his or her home rather than a dedicated facility. The advantage of such a facility is that your child feels like they never left the comfort of your home. Caregivers always make the place as homely so that the child feels comfortable and settles in quickly.

Mother's Help

You can also go for mother's help if you have time to look after your child. Usually, the people who offer this kind of daycare services aspire to be professional caregivers and have no experience of caring for young children. They offer to help you with caring for the child and other housekeeping duties as they learn from you. You should only sign up for this if you have time for active supervision of the mother's help.

Education and Development for Children and Adults

Recently, I have learnt a great deal about different educational opportunities which are available to children and adults. I was enrolling my child in a local school. While I was filling out the paperwork, someone approached me and gave me a leaflet about adult education. I stuffed the leaflet in my pocket and forgot all about it until I was doing the laundry a week later. I was really impressed with the courses on offer so I decided to sign up for a class. I hope this blog helps you to discover more about adult and child education and development.
