From Beginners To Those Near Their Test: Driving Lessons Are The Most Important Tool You Can Use

Blog

Learning to drive can be a stressful but exciting time for both the learner and the parents or guardians who have to guide them through this process. It is one of the first steps to becoming an independent adult that you can take and you want to make sure you get it right. It is crucial that as a learner driver, you learn the basics correctly, otherwise you can instil a lifetime of bad driving habits that could cause you accidents in the future. The simple solution for any experience level is, of course, driving lessons.

Driving Lessons For Beginners

If you want to start off on the best foot possible, then getting driving lessons as a beginner can really help streamline your training. At the start driving lessons can help you with the very basics, such as:

  • Changing gears and using the clutch (for manual drivers)
  • Understanding how to enter and exit roundabouts
  • Getting a feel for the other drivers on the road and noticing danger signs
  • Telling you how often to check your mirrors, how to check blindspots and how to decode roadsigns

These are basic instructions, but they form the cornerstones from which you base your entire lifetime as a driver on, so it always helps to have expert advice at this stage.

Driving Lessons For Learners Nearing Their Test

Apart from drivers just starting off, the second most common form of driving lessons is those the kind that is used by learners nearing their test for their next licence stage. These driving lessons are extremely beneficial for you because they tell you all the tips and tricks that driving testers are looking for when you go for your practical test. You can practice driving techniques you are still uncomfortable with, such as reverse parallel parking or three-point turns, and generally use this as a bit of final study, so to speak. If you are intending to go for your test soon, then going to a driving lesson with a list of things you want to brush up on is the best way to feel confident going into a test.

Additional Benefit

Driving lessons are great for beginners, intermediates and those nearing their next licence level for many obvious reasons, but there are is an additional benefit that driving lessons offer that you simply cannot get from non-accredited instructors. Depending on what state or territory you are in, your driving lessons can count for double or triple the amount of hours you actually do with a driving instructor (up to a certain capped amount). For example, if you do a one-hour driving lesson then you can put it down as three hours in your logbook. This means that not only are you learning from a professional, but your overall time driving is drastically reduced.

Education and Development for Children and Adults

Recently, I have learnt a great deal about different educational opportunities which are available to children and adults. I was enrolling my child in a local school. While I was filling out the paperwork, someone approached me and gave me a leaflet about adult education. I stuffed the leaflet in my pocket and forgot all about it until I was doing the laundry a week later. I was really impressed with the courses on offer so I decided to sign up for a class. I hope this blog helps you to discover more about adult and child education and development.
